As a local authority, East Sussex County Council carries out a range of health and safety audits across its corporate services and schools. Before implementing ANT’s audit management system, the Council relied on a paper-based audit questionnaire using Microsoft Word templates. Audit responses for each site had to be compiled manually, making the reporting process time-consuming and increasing administrative effort.
The Council wanted a more efficient and consistent way to manage its audit programme while providing better visibility of audit activity. It was also important to adopt a solution that was easy to implement and could continue to evolve as the organisation’s requirements changed.
East Sussex County Council implemented ANT’s audit management system to support the Health and Safety team’s audit programme.
The system is used to manage both corporate audits and school audits, while also providing schools with access to complete their own self-assessment questionnaires and manage outstanding actions. The platform provides a centralised, easy-to-use solution for planning, completing and reporting on audits, helping ensure consistency across all audit activities.
As the Council’s requirements have evolved, ANT has continued to work closely with the Health and Safety team, enhancing the system to support new response types, action management and changing operational needs.
East Sussex County Council first became aware of ANT after another local authority shared that it was purchasing the audit management system. Following a demonstration, the Council was impressed by the platform’s capabilities, ease of use and straightforward implementation, making ANT the preferred choice.
An important part of the partnership has been ANT’s ongoing commitment to customer support. The team has remained responsive, knowledgeable and proactive, working closely with East Sussex County Council to ensure the system continues to meet the department’s evolving requirements.
This collaborative approach has helped establish the platform as a dependable part of the Council’s day-to-day health and safety operations.
Since implementing ANT’s audit management system, East Sussex County Council has achieved:
East Sussex County Council continues to use ANT’s audit management system as an integral part of its Health and Safety audit programme.
