Birdstrike and Wildlife Control

Birdstrike and wildlife patrols are critical to airport safety, helping prevent dangerous collisions with aircraft during take-off, landing, and taxiing. Even small wildlife strikes can cause major damage, engine failure, and operational disruption. Our mobile app streamlines the entire process - allowing teams to record wildlife sightings instantly while ensuring patrols are completed at the required intervals. With real-time accountability, accurate reporting, and full traceability, airports can maintain safer runways and stronger operational compliance.

Completing an Airfield Inspection

At the start of the patrol, the app begins recording your GPS position while the BCV icon stays centred on screen as you move around the airfield.

Each recording will be stored on the device and uploaded when a data/Wi-Fi signal is available.

At the end of the shift, data collection stops and any remaining data is uploaded to the web system when a signal is available.

Additional Features

Countdown Timer

Displays next to the Start / End button when enabled.

Counts down to zero, then resets to 1:00 minute and turns Amber to warn the user.

Resets for a final 1:00 minute, turns Red, and sounds an audible alarm at 00:00.

If ignored, the timer resets and an Inactive Event is logged on the web system.

Users can still record “No Sighting” while on patrol.

Lethal Control

Selecting a lethal control method requires a disclaimer to be accepted before continuing.

Users must record:

• Number of cartridges used
• Number of carcasses collected

The app will also prompt users to mark collection locations on the map.

3 Hour Review

Available after completing the first airfield survey by tapping End.

The “3 Hour Review” button appears in the top toolbar.

Displays BCV GPS locations from the previous three hours on the map.

Includes travel data from all users on the device.

Helps identify areas requiring attention during future inspections.

Book a demo and we'll show you how it works for your organisation.
